CHAPTER COMMITTEES

BY-LAWS - Responsible for maintaining the chapters by-laws; accept, review and recommend any change to the by-laws to the general membership; coordinate the publication and distribution; coordinate all voting on any changes.

CERTIFIED FIRE INVESTIGATORS (CFI) PROGRAM - Responsible for promoting the CFI program among the members of the chapter; coordinate application process and testing; to assist those members applying for CFI status; provide the necessary training for those members seeking CFI status; advise general membership of any program changes.

GOLF TOURNAMENT - Responsible for organizing and implementing the chapters annual golf tournament to raise money for the chapter's scholarship and grant funds.

GOOD & WELFARE - Responsible for extending the chapters good wishes or condolences to those members and their families under certain circumstances.

JUVENILE FIRESETTERS PROGRAM - Responsible for the chapters representation in the area of juvenile fire setting; to promote fire safety education for juveniles; to assist the training & education committee in coordinating seminars in juvenile fire setting.

LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS - Responsible for obtaining copies of all relevant state and federal legislation; provide information to the general membership regarding legislation that may require action by the chapter; coordinate with the chapter president action on the "Burn Reporting Laws" within the state.

MEMBERSHIP - Responsible for maintaining records and status of all active, associate, life and sustaining members of the chapter; coordinate mailing and receipt of membership renewals.

 MERCHANDISE - Responsible for promoting, selling, maintaining and developing all chapter merchandise; make available all merchandise to be purchased at all chapter functions; maintain and submit financial records of all sales and purchases.

WEB SITE -  Responsible for maintaining and updating the Chapter's web site.

REVENUE & FINANCE - Responsible for coordinating an annual financial audit of the chapter; obtain non-profit status for the chapter; maintain all chapter insurance policies; solicit donations for the chapters annual conferences.

SAFETY & HEALTH - Responsible for distributing a copy of the IAAI's "injury reporting form" to each member; submit article for the newsletter on safety and health issues; collect and distribute to the general membership information on any fire investigation related injury in new jersey; submit information on injuries as per IAAI protocol; prepare and submit an annual report to the general membership.

TRAINING & EDUCATION - Responsible for promoting, planning and implementing all training seminars for the general membership to include: 4 one (1) day seminars prior to march of each year, a one (1) day seminar in October of each year, two and a half (2 1/2) days of training at the annual conference, two (2) 80 hour basic fire investigation courses each year; prepare and submit a financial report on each seminar.

AWARDS - Responsible for reviewing all applications & nominations submitted for awards, scholarship and grant.

NOMINATING/ELECTIONS - Responsible for overseeing the election of Officers and Board of directors at each annual membership meeting in March, which includes accepting nominations for all positions.

AGM - Responsible for coordinating the Chapter's annual training conference and membership meeting.

AGM & MID-YEAR SITES - Responsible for reviewing, selecting and securing the location of the Chapter's annual and mid-year training conference and membership meeting.

AUDITING - Responsible for auditing the Chapter's financial records according to the By Laws.

IAAI & DFS - Responsible for coordinating the development and execution of the Chapter's "Basic Fire Investigation Course" between the Chapter and the NJ State Division of Fire Safety.
